All vehicle rentals at Car Hire are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle in Strood
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Strood, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, with possible extra charges for those under 25. A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category, held for the period stated in the Rental Agreement, is required. Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Strood office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and must be signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Additional insurance options may be available to further limit your financial liability. You are accountable for any damages or losses up to the excess amount unless additional insurance applies. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Charges may apply for late cancellations or no-shows, so it is advisable to review your options carefully.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses in Strood
- Usage of the vehicle is strictly prohibited for any illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting to unauthorized individuals is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is forbidden.
